Responsible for being a part of the Mental Health Programs administrative support team, assisting the staff team and supporting general operations of programs at a Mental Health site.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Answer calls for Outpatient and Field-based services and assist referrals, clients and caregivers in English and Spanish.
Transfer calls to appropriate voicemail or assist callers to speak with persons who can provide proper assistance.
Gather contact information and other general information for referral management and track referrals in Referral Logs.
Perform data entry for several mental health programs, where needed.
Deliver mail to the main office as needed.
Administer client satisfaction surveys (when required by DMH).
Monitor and manage ordering of required supplies in Los Angeles MH site (Haldeman), in coordination with Mental Health Program management.
Manage paperwork packets and forms, to ensure a ready supply of complete and up-to-date packets are available to mental health staff.
Participate in Departmental/Team meetings.
Attend and participate in mandatory training and in-services as required.
Other tasks and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the program supervisor.
Qualifications:
Possesses a High School Diploma or GED.
Must be fluent in English and Spanish with abilities to communicate effectively verbally in writing.
Self-starter and able to demonstrate initiative.
Organization and detail orientation required.
Ability to manage time and be flexible in duties.
Must be able to pass criminal/fingerprinting background check, TB test, physical examination and drug testing.
Must be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
Must have a valid California Drivers License and a clear DMV record.
Must have the visual, physical and technical ability to independently operate a variety of office equipment including the use of a computer.
Will also require bending, stooping, filing and lifting of files.

Therefore, each employee must at all times be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children, adolescents and adults who may have mental or behavioral problems.
The staff must be able to demonstrate appropriate daily behavior, appropriate expression of emotions, as well as appropriate role modeling.
Hostility, aggression and unnecessary or inappropriate physical actions as well as inappropriate emotional expression are not acceptable.
